Equal Ground is a jazz-fusion original composition by Carlos Mata-Alvarez which features himself on tenor sax, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), and synthesizers. The piece highlights harmony, grooves, and production techniques inspired by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, and the Yellowjackets. Improvised solos are featured from drummer Lucas Apostoleris and pianist Alex Brown.
